Hey I just did the Tickle IQ Test and guess what?
Yep I got 136 too and I've also been given the honourary title of Visual Mathematician! Does this mean we got exactly the same questions right?!?
Hmmm... something sounds a little fishy if you ask me!!

I also did the test and got 136 - guess what, boys, I was ranked a Visionary Philosopher so I think you did get the same questions right. lol

It's evident: they just want ours email addresses >:(

(I also reached 136... he,he,he... ;))

Posted by: Horuk at June 18, 2004 06:28 PM

i deliberately answered everything wrong, and got 75! It said...

"Your Intellectual Type is Inventive Inquisitor. You have the unusual distinction of being equally good at math and verbal skills. This means you are a creative thinker and are uniquely good at teaching others through experiences. You are also a great improviser and very good at handling change."

...well that's a relief, because i always thought an IQ of 75 meant i was just retarded.

Posted by: south at July 16, 2004 08:56 PM

You must get bonus points for being a retard that can use computers!!:-p
I had a 136, and am not a college professer, what did I do wrong??? other than enjoy life with my visionary philosophy...d;-D

Posted by: CK at August 27, 2004 07:09 AM

Ok, I too received a 136/Visionary Philly!! Seriously, you would think they could have been a smidge more creative now, wouldn't you? OR Maybe, just maybe, there is a certain personality type and mentality of person who takes this type of "test" and we are really all very much alike??
Gee, maybe we should start a "136-Tickle" club!
Hahahahahahahahaha

Hi guys, guess.....
I scored 136 and now the inventive of the Tickle
crew is growing up...
I'm "facts curator"....., what really means sounds
far away from my skills. Anyway I've tka a funny while whe I got their response!

Posted by: Dj at October 6, 2004 08:16 PM

136 twice in a row.. but I was a word warrior the first time and a vis. phil. the second time.. I've made anotherone, much harder and got 110, or so.. but who cares? I still tell people I've got 136 :D

Posted by: Miche at October 14, 2004 11:34 PM

yet another 136...

Posted by: zach at October 17, 2004 07:30 AM

yeaah, rrrright!
they probably serve us one of their very 3 random results: 136, 75 or 154... I got 136!!! and I did the same test last year and reached 136 with the same comment! fishy! fishy!

and I lost 20 mn twice! How very intelligent is that :$ BUT, this time around i didnot subscribe to their silly empty newsletter, hmm could I be getting smarter?

Posted by: val at October 24, 2004 02:41 AM

I got 136 and wanted to know where I stand . I searched through google and got here.
Saw all the comments. and since the other two scores given here are 75 and 154. I have realized I am the average, common person not a visionary mathmatecian. Still I like solving simple puzzles so tickle was fun.
And I will try to get 154 next time. But I never inted to buy the report for price because that requires anIQ of 5 only

Posted by: aprajita at October 25, 2004 02:42 PM

136, too! imagine that! mensa here i come!!!

Posted by: budgles at October 27, 2004 03:06 PM

LOL. I don't know any of you people but I just googled "136 IQ" and found this site.

I just took the tickle test and got a 136 IQ.

I later retook the test and marked the first answer on every one of the last 25 questions and got a 115.

I did a lil' research on NON-Tickle websites and found that 135 is supposed to be the top 90 percentile IQ for college professors or Medical Doctors (MD's).

Also, people with a 135 are supposed to make up the top 95 percentile of general population.

I am not an MD or college professor only a lowly pre-med student.

Tickle.com sucks. We should all email them to let them know we're onto their fraud.

I thought I was special. hahaha. bastards just want one to pay for their sucky, Cosmo-like personality tests.

Posted by: Lasse at November 13, 2004 03:21 AM

I'm sorry to disappoint all the conspiracy makers in here, but i yhink it's pretty clear why everybody has the same IQ at this forum. Everybody has googled on IQ 136... Maybe there is something wrong with the test but never with your arguments!

Posted by: Claud at November 13, 2004 03:37 AM

136 - Facts Curator reporting for duty. I too am in a class with the likes of Bill Gates.

Posted by: Seth at November 24, 2004 10:22 PM

Haha, I also got here because of the Tickle test... I wanted to know how to interpret the IQ score of 136 that it gave me (cause I have no idea at all what's supposed to be dense and what's supposed to be brilliant with IQ scores). I know you couldn't guess this, but I was a Visionary Philosopher.

Posted by: Steen at December 7, 2004 08:59 AM

I googled 136 IQ and found this website. It told me i was a "insightful linguist" haha

Posted by: Big Pimpin at December 10, 2004 01:54 AM

May be, just may be, non of those who got 136 wanted to pay for that report; hence you want to know where you actually stand; so, we are here. . . where do YOU actually stand?

Posted by: kero at December 29, 2004 03:02 PM

I suggest those who doubt an iq test to take a different one and see how they rank.I think some of the comments in here are clearly from people that dont have a iq of 136.

I googled on IQ 136, too, because I took the Tickle test. They say I am a linguist, though, and this was the same thing they told me in high school, where I only got a 121.

The test is rigged to make their prey look smarter than they really are.

Posted by: Sham at January 7, 2005 04:02 AM

I got 136 on a home test, and at a different internet site. The most relevant thing, is , as someone posted,it basically puts meat the upper end of 95% of the population. But in terms of life success, it's totally irrelevant.Motivation, role models, opportunities, racism, all are often more important. Oops, I even sound intelligent...

Posted by: Nkosi at January 14, 2005 12:35 AM

I got a 136 score on Tickle and it said I was a "Shiftless Cyberbum."

Posted by: Atlas at January 14, 2005 05:52 AM

how boring and interesting at the same time. interesting because we all got 136s and followed the same logical train of thought (google 136 IQ) and how boring because we are all so predictable....what makes life interesting are those moments of unpredictability...so what are the scenarios whereby unpredictability shows itself? ;) always the predictive model ladies and gents...why don't we abandon our egos and examine the inner path instead?

Posted by: cheryl at January 30, 2005 08:39 AM

never been here before. i've had my IQ tested before and 136 is about right. the reason we are all here, as has been pointed out, is that we took the Tickle IQ test and scored 136. Someone should google IQ 134 and see if there are a bunch of people bitching about being mislead in some other forum.

I work a day job that is so boring I have brain cells to waste on taking ridiculous IQ tests from pop-up's that would normally drive any itelligent person mad. And possibly worse, is the fact that I then had time to search my embarassingly proud number, read through the crap of other 136'ers, and then strain my fingers typing a completely incosequential blog. Life is GOOD.

136 Visionary Philosopher - googled it after the test!

Posted by: Skirrid at February 17, 2005 12:09 AM

I landed here by searching on "Inventive Inquisitor" and tickle IQ test. My wife took this test and got 136 and paid for the analysis (on that fact alone I would knock off about 20 IQ points).

Anyhow I found someone's paid for results posted on the web with the correct answers in it. I went back to the test and re-took it with all correct answers and scored 142 Visionary Philosopher. I thought that was the highest it went but I see some mention of 154 here...

I took the test again and gave all wrong answers and here is what they said:
+------------------------------------------------------+
Congratulations, Brian!
Your IQ score is 72

This number is based on a scientific formula
that compares how many questions you answered
correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to
others.

Your Intellectual Type is Inventive Inquisitor.
You have the unusual distinction of being equally
good at math and verbal skills. This means you
are a creative thinker and are uniquely good at
teaching others through experiences. You are also
a great improviser and very good at handling change.
+------------------------------------------------------+

I guess inventive inquisitor means that either I make it up or I'm asking questions all the time ;) Go figure.

It's amazing how at one point in all of our lives, we found the time to write an online iq test, get a score, find this site, and read a few posts. It's also amazing how some people consider themselves to be smarter than others, when they don't even understand their own scale of measurement, or how inaccurate that scale is.

Posted by: mat at February 17, 2005 11:17 AM

Damn...135 here. I almost made the cut. They compared me to Bill Gates though, like a few of you who posted above...looks like Billy and I are gonna have to sit this one out while you brainiacs with the 136's run the show for the rest of us.

And to those of you who think this is some kind of marketing scheme and not a REAL IQ test...get a clue!

Pretty good I bet. My guess is that we are all fairly smart, but need confirmation. We have probably done well in school, but the reality is, the harder we worked, the better our grade. i e- mailed tickle about this web page ad in repy they said this:

Hello Charlie,

Thank you for contacting Tickle.com Customer Care.

Yes! The Classic IQ Test is scientifically valid.

Tickle's staff psychologists developed our IQ test using proven,
high-quality IQ test questions such as those in the Mensa Workout tests
and the Shipley Institute of Living Scale (SILS). Tickle performed a
large-scale study of people who had taken both the Tickle IQ test and the
established SILS, calibrating the Tickle IQ test using scores calculated
by the SILS. That ensured a high association between the two tests and,
because of that, the validity of our IQ scores. In fact, the Tickle IQ
test is highly reliable -- the Chronbach's alpha is .81. In other words,
the questions on Tickle's IQ test are internally consistent and they all
measure intelligence accurately.

After 1 million people took the Tickle IQ test, we ran what is called a
"factor analysis" on the answers of all test takers. This statistical
analysis identified the similarity between groups of questions in our
test. The analysis demonstrated that our IQ test accurately measured four
underlying dimensions of intelligence: mathematical, visual-spatial,
linguistic and logical. Tickle's four dimensions of intelligence are
highly valid - for the scientists and statisticians out there, their
reliability coefficients were .85, .84, .81 and .50, respectively.

I hope this answers your questions about the Classic IQ Test. Thank you
for your interest in our tests and for visiting Tickle.com

It looks like we are all alike: Took the Tickle IQ test, scored a 136, are too smart to pay for the results, wanted a quick answer, & did a Google search on "136 IQ." Then, here we are, pondering the validity of the test & getting bummed out... I don't think we should be bummed, I think it proves that "Great minds think alike!" To me, those that scored higher than us lack the social skills it takes to participate in discussions like these (probably arrogant about it as well) If you consider the millions & millions of people that have let their curiosities get the better of them & taken the exact path that we have, it's not at all surprising that so many of us are here...it's nice to meet so many of my equals :) By the way, Facts Curator is what I was dubbed as...I'm an Interior Design student & have my own business as a custom seamstress.

Wow! I have certainly been informed on the ruse of tickle.com. Happy April Fool's Day! (Or was it a ruse?!)

Belonging to the 136 Club of Visual Mathematicians, I've come to the conclusion that my BSE in English and sociology was the wrong path to take. I should have been a physicist!

Posted by: Adrian Watkins at April 7, 2005 01:06 PM

Think about it for a second. If 136 puts you in the 96 percentile, then for every one hundred people you come across (I know, not statiscally valid), at least 4 have the same IQ or higher. Its more likely you'll meet someone with the same IQ than the same birthday, and think about how many people you know personally with the same birthday. Then consider that the people who take these types of tests (on the computer and then follow up with a google search) are hardly a random sample. So the chances that of the millions of internet users who could possibly find their way to that tickle test, then google their score, are way above 4%. There are not really that many people who have posted here. So, what I am saying is when a perosn with a 136 IQ who makes their way to this site through google, shows up, it should not surprise anyone here. In fact, we should all meet for a beer because we would probably all get along pretty well.

Posted by: Ciaran at April 16, 2005 04:03 AM

I too took the Tickle test and scored a 136. However, this is the same score I received at age 8 or so when I was sent to the school psychologist and subjected to a variety of tests due to my extreme shyness. I took the test to find out if I have gotten any smarter/dumber. Seems I haven't changed much (I am now 34). So anyway, my point is, this test is probably valid.

Posted by: Alison at April 16, 2005 06:42 AM

Wooo. I am a genius. IQ of 136. Just call me a facts curator like my buddy bill gates.

Posted by: Tyler Fourre at April 16, 2005 09:35 AM

Instead of going on and on about whether your Tickle score is valid, why not try taking a more reliable IQ test elsewhere and compare the results? For me, 136 seems about right because when I compare my SAT, GRE and other test scores with my IQ score, they seem to correlate. By the way, a lot of the questions on the Tickle test mirror the types of questions on standardized tests like the GRE, etc.

Posted by: rose at April 17, 2005 04:53 AM

The real test is whether you think the IQ test scores are real. The people who think these scores are real must have a high ego or are stupid. It's just a gimic so you'll buy their IQ reports, stupid!

Posted by: mere at April 23, 2005 08:28 AM

looks like we're dealing not with a 136 Club, but a 136 NATION. Now I know this test must be fishy because I actually thought one of the questions was wrong:

X is 4 years old, his sister is 3 times older. When X reaches 12, how old will his sister be? Silly me, I thought it was 36, but none of the answers fit.

Then again, maybe the computer is right (it always is, isn't it?), which makes my 136 questionable. Hey, I even tried to leave the answer blank, but the programme objected.

Posted by: Mehdi at April 24, 2005 03:07 PM

That question was not wrong Mehdi. The correct answer was 20. 8 years elder to him! 133 is my score Facts Curator. Someone rightly said. Great minds think alike. What a rig

Jep, wondering how i ended up on this site, but after reading and laughing, have to say just one thing... got a 136 as well! Perhaps the google has brought all the folks with an IQ of 136 together here for this dialogue. Tickle rated me Visionary Philosopher....interesting, very interesting.

Posted by: Kenan at April 28, 2005 10:37 PM

136, Visionary Philosopher. I was a 136 the first time too although I think my category was different.

Maybe it's just easy except for a couple of questions. . . Maybe it's just a con. I tried doing it and saying my age was under 13 because I think they can't use your personal information if you're that young. Wouldn't you know it, they wouldn't give me my results!

Who reads this far down anyways. I stopped reading after ten posts.

If only I could remember some of the geometry equations from school! LOL! I will chalk this up to poor memory for the math portions, but for those of you who scored 136, congrats! ~M

Posted by: Melissa at May 2, 2005 10:37 PM

Two observations:

1. It is likely that the test is more valid than you would think, given the comments on this thread. Internet users (especially those who can use a search engine effectively) are more intelligent than average. That would explain the large number of high scores among those commenting here. If you are intellectually curious enough to investigate an intelligence test, then it is likely that you are above the average IQ.

2. I am a trained psychometrician, and I have adminisitered many intelligence tests. The basic Tickle test is not useful in measuring exceptional (very high and very low) results. As pointed out above, the worst score is a 72. The best score appears to be 140, although I'm not sure. I would guess that the validity of the test falls off rather quickly as you approach these extremes.

Posted by: Jesse at May 16, 2005 10:01 PM

I got 136 and I have reason to believe that you can't score higher. I'm not insanely smart or anything but neither are the questions in this test. In fact one of them doesn't have a valid answer to choose (probably a typo). Has anyone else noticed that the people who say they scored higher than 136 do not include their "type" e.g mine was "insightful linguist" but all those people who scored more than 136 don't mention a title.

Yeah in short guys (who scored more than 136) I think you are full of s**t and the only thing more full of it, is the test itself. If you have an IQ of 155 you'd be working for NASA, not taking suspicous tests on the internet to prove your intelligence or lack there of.

For reference, Einstein was estimated to be around 160.

but sadly me and my buddy bill gates love math and obsure facts, the only other IQ test I have taken was when I was in jr high and I had to visit the doctor a few times cause the teacher wanted to hold me back and I got a 155, threw that right in her face... I was just another kid with add who didn't care about doing homework... but I don't work for nasa... don't work at at... thank god for michigans economy ranking right up there at the very bottom

I got a 144 on that Tickle IQ Test (It is the highest you can get). I went on to take the Super IQ test. I have been wondering what is the highest for that test. It is markedly more challenging and more strenuous. Apparently, you can find intellectuals like me for every 6 persons in one thousand persons. I don't really care though because I don't think the test measures IQ the best it could.

Posted by: Jeremy McGowan at May 17, 2005 10:43 AM

The fact is that any IQ test can be studied for. People can train to answer these questions. There are brilliant people who have been trained to answer more abstract questions and who can't answer some of the questions on the Tickle Test accurately. It is not like the tests want you to do Vector Calculus, you know?

Posted by: Erik at May 22, 2005 03:31 AM

I searched for "tickle," "IQ," and "validity" and wound up here. My score came out as 140, and I was slapped with the title of "visionary philosopher" or somesuch.

I don't think the tickle test is the greatest IQ test ever devised, but it has some merit. Need I remind most of the people that found this site that they found it precisely because they googled "IQ 136"? I'm proof that there is no grand scheme to hand out a 136 to everyone.

I think the test inflated my IQ slightly. It rests somewhere in the low 130s. But the "easy" questions were simply, um, IQ test questions. That's basically what IQ tests look like. Unfortunately, IQ is terrible indicator of almost everything - most certainly overall real world success. If anyone needs proof, I will gladly e-mail him/her a scanned copy of my next paystub.

This was a hilarious read folks. Cudos to the first guy who pointed out that we all googled IQ 136 and this board is therefore no evidence of a scam. Some of you need to consider the fact that if you are in the 95th percentile, that means that there are many millions and millions of people at that same level in the united states alone. This message board probably has less than 100 posts and it is almost a year old... get it??? It's not that unlikely that 50 visionary philosopher 136 types will surf the internet looking for an explanation and wind up here...
if you note the various posts, there were a lot of professors, med students etc. Myself, i just graduated from law school in the top 10% of my class. going into law school, I ranked in the 90th percentile on the LSAT. I suspect that many of you have similarly achieved a lot in university, thus validating the 136 score. i can only conclude that your cynicism in respect of the Tickle test arises from the inordinate number of internet scams you have previously fallen prey to.

Posted by: Andrew at June 1, 2005 12:14 AM

Wow, I was thinking I was smart with my 135, yes 135 score, NOT 136. Where is the 135 club? It said i am a visionary mathematician. that was a good day for me but not anymore. i have to find another iq test or i will kill myself!

Posted by: Joe at June 4, 2005 01:42 PM

Well, I'm also a 136 and a Visionary Philosopher, and that qualifies me for Mensa. 132 is the Mensa cutoff point - which may seem a little arbitrary, but now that I know I qualify I can see the sense in it. I mean I've hung out with a couple of 131's, and honestly they were a little slow on the uptake.

Posted by: Robin at June 7, 2005 12:55 AM

Just a bit bored like all of you, so...

First off, for anyone claiming a 150+ score, Tickle says 144 is the maximum, so it looks like you're not so smart after all.
http://support.tickle.com/bin/answer.py?answer=59&topic=23

Secondly, according to Wikipedia (which is often correct on a wide variety of things), the test is 65.61% accurate, so take that as you will.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_IQ_Test_Validity

If anyone at all cares I got an 142. I assume you don't, though.

For people with IQs of 136, it's surprising that most of you didn't figure out that the reason why most of the people here seem to have IQs of 136 is because that was the number googled. I guess that would require a little creativity, too. On that most of you, I'm afraid, score well below 100.

Congratulations, Kaelynne!
Your IQ score is 136
This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician. This means you are gifted at spotting patterns — both in pictures and in numbers. These talents combined with your overall high intelligence make you good at understanding the big picture, which is why people trust your instincts and turn to you for direction — especially in the workplace. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.

So everyone here recieved a 136 on tickle's IQ test (another visionary philosopher here) and googled "iq 136" to see how they stack up to everyone else. And because this site was the top result everyone ended here. So everyone starts complaining and assuming the test is a fraud and that almost everyone who takes the test ends up with a 136. At first I thought that to be a joke and assumed that if you googled "iq 121" you'd end up on a similar page full of resposes from people who recieved a 121 on tickle's test. However if everyone here really had an iq of 136 this would have been tested and all talk of the test being a fraud would have been put to rest. Obviously that is not the case and that can only mean the test truly is a fraud.

...Damn how'd you know? Yep that's right 136!!!
Now I must admit I've read ALL the posts and I am quite amazed at what I've seen, and still don't quite no what to make.
I first took an IQ test about five years ago, I did a series of them to average out my score and the end result was 136 (note none of these were Tickle Tests) I then proceeded to find the Tickle test and completed it with a DEVESTATING score of 135 :( refusing the answer I took the other tests, then made my back to the Classic and reclaimed my 136!!! then I looked on the net for what various IQ's mean, after searching various sites, I decided to see EXACTLY what "IQ 136" meant, and yep! I ended up here. It was at that point that my dreams of overthrowing the Bill Gates empire shattered.
Yes I am some-what skeptical, HOWEVER there are, on average, 300,000,000 million people living in the world with an IQ of 136.
I would also like to point out that halfway down the posting I thought it would be funny to all get T-Shirts printed with "136" on them... TWO POSTS LATER SOMEONE HAD THE EXACT SAME IDEA!!!! FOLLOWED BY SOMEONE WHO THOUGHT THE IDEA WAS GOOD!!!
perhaps great minds DO think alike...
Oh well I am without a doubt a 136, even if Tickle is a fraud... either way it has been fun, and I am glad to have conversed with such like minded people...

I got 136 too, seriously Congratulations, DAYNE!
Your IQ score is 136

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician.

ATTENTION 136'ERS!

How about this - Even though it seems like a lot of people getting 136 and ending up here - MAYBE, just MAYBE - in the millions of people on the net - we are the FEW, that not only have taken the test and rec'd a 136, but actually Googled it after and then come together at this destination. Cosmic forces at work.....

Andrew, your IQ score is 122...

"You have an unusually strong balance between verbal and mathematical skills combined with a strength in the visual realm. Your most enduring talent, however, is that your idea centre never shuts down. That's what makes you an Inspired Inventor."

INSPIRED INVENTOR!! why thank you! :P

Good News (kinda). I googled IQ Tickle and found people who scored 127, 135, and 112, so maybe we are all visionary philosophers (me) and mathematcians. Then again I got a D in Calculus, so I found it strange that I scored so high. Of course I do consider myself a creative biologist. Actaully, make that unemployed creative biologist.

AHHH yet another 136, imagine that, a rugby player with multiple concusions. amazing how many geniuses are aout there, and gathering in the same place, with the exact same score, almost as if being recruited for Bill Gates' evil army.
They said I'm a visionary philosopher, and my philosophy is that the net is full of crap.....
amazing how such an important tool for society can be so easily made useless by adding false information.....
But I'm still a 136, I read it on the net so it has to be true, ha ha ha, can I join the 136 club too?

Alright listen up. Visual Mathematician 136 here! In this big bad world of ours there are around 6 billion people! now considering 136 makes you one of the top 4% of the world's iq it means we all get to share the crown with 240,000,000 other 136ers or HIGHER. Now considerer that such high statistics are not so uncommon. After all, 1 in 200 people are direct descendants of Ghenghis Khan, now chew that over for a while with your IQ's of 136.
so long for now.

Posted by: 136er at August 14, 2005 02:39 PM

hi i'm a 136er and i'm a little confused at a few of the people in here. First what's with all those people who say their iq is higher? Why come into a site for 136 iqers just to brag. You're all just losers wanting to brag, when in reality, your iq is probably about 36!
And not being mean or anything, but you would think that with such high iqs most of you would be able to spell correctly, but i must be naive.
see ya, 136ers and all those highly gifted retards with iqs of 157!

Posted by: BOO at August 14, 2005 02:44 PM

i watched a Sopranos episode last night and tony said he has a 136 IQ (for fellow Sopranos fans: it's in season 5 episode 13, when tony had a phone conversation with johnny sack) and it reminded me that i also got 136 when i took the tickle test a while ago. i forgot what 136 is supposed to mean statistically except that it's significantly above average, so i googled "iq 136" and here i am. reading thru the comments made by fellow (authentic or not) 136ers i couldn't help feeling skeptical about the results; not because there are more people who got that score than i thought, but that only a handful of those comments appeared to be somewhat intelligent. like i didn't expect a person with 136 IQ would fail to understand why the answer to the question "X is 4 years old, his sister is 3 times older. When X reaches 12, how old will his sister be?" is not "36", to a point of thinking that "the computer" is wrong and the test is a sham because of it. set aside my skepticism, i think there's one thing most of us (myself included) have in common-- that we tend to achieve less than our potential allow us, and we lack things to take pride of besides our intelligence. Or else we won't have taken that number seriously-- enough to spend hours on taking the test, googling the score and talking about it here. it is unfortunate for us that intelligence means so little (compared to things like motivation, tenacity, social skills, connections, or just plain luck) when it comes to actually achieving something.
for the younglings who scored 136: the fact that you're younger only means that you're likely to score lower when you become our age; now that you have geometry and algebra homework to hone your visual and math skills. i scored 91% in GRE math and reasoning, then started slacking off and partying like there was no tomorrow. now i'm getting my ass kicked in LSAT and feeling very stupid. remember there's always a trade-off here: don't think that you can get away with not working hard just because you've an IQ score that says you're "smart."

This is truly amazing. I, too, participated in the tickle test and scored a lovely 136. Visionary philosopher here. I feel I must admit that it is 1AM and I could not peel myself away from all the comments on this page. I read the entire thing. So to you, my fellow 136ers, I applaud your intelligence and look forward to fighting alongside you in the battle against those who are "less than".

Some truly funny comments in these many pages. I really believe that it would be a good idea for us all to get t-shirts made that say "136 Visionary Philosopher" on them, or your corresponding designation, and wear them every third Thursday of the month. This way we can congregate with our intellectual brothers and sisters whom are also of our high calibur! :)

Posted by: L at August 19, 2005 04:09 PM

I guess I'm not alone, got a 136 Facts Curator & Googled to here! Strangely enough I got the same score 15 years ago using the Cattel IQ test so A) I've learned nothing in 15 years or B) On the positive side, I've not killed too many brain cells with over indulgence in the old amber nectar!

Posted by: DM at August 19, 2005 08:43 PM

Haha.. I'm only 15 and got 136 too.
Which is funny because on an actual IQ test I was plastered as "stupid" with like a 112 or something.
But, I guess you can always feel better taking the Tickle test.
Makes you feel smart for a second.
Maybe it'll make some people feel good about themselves and try harder in class.

Posted by: Tae at August 22, 2005 03:00 AM

Wow, none of you are particularly bright are you?
You took the test, got 136 (like myself) and immediately googled up this site and now your all absolutely amazed that everyones score is 136!

No shit. You all did the same thing, you googled up 136. If you'd a googled up 90 (as would seem more reasonable reading your posts) you'd probably ended up at a site with a bunch of Thimerosal victims, just amazed at how many of you are there and still wondering if the test was rigged. How the hell did you pass that test with those kinda marks anyway, what with your lack of logic skill and all...

BTW - your occupation has NOTHING to do with your intelligence, it's a measure of spacial, relational and cognitive abilities.
If you have a crappy job it's because you don't use what you have. Or to be fair maybe you live someplace with a shitty occupational outlook, like Sonoma Co. CA of something. Do something (or move somewhere else and do something, as may be the case).

I took two different online tests and they both said that my IQ was 136. So here I go proud as ever to try and find out what that means (Tickle said Visionary Philosopher) and I find you guys. Suddenly, I don't feel so "special" anymore!!!!

Posted by: Anne at September 1, 2005 01:46 AM

Hey I got 136 too, by coincidence and was also labelled a visionary philosopher for my pains as soon as I'd tickled Tickle's palm with silver. Problem is, I really am a visionary philosopher - I've had a couple of essays on philosopy of consciousness published online where I lay into philosophical adversaries like Pinker and Dennett whose fear of the ghost in the machine is as laughable as the emperor's new clothes. Homunculus? Of course there's one. Reminds me - gotta edit the Wikipedia article on Qualia - the usual Dennett stuff is referred to but no mention of my hero Mc Ginn and his Mysterious Flame - for his invention of 'wotzit like to be a bat?' he must have an IQ of 631...

Posted by: Hugh at September 7, 2005 01:10 AM

I've done the Tickle test 3 times. I've scored 136, 142, and 141 respectively--and drunk each time no less. My brother-in-law scored 134, as did my best friend. My wife scored 122. I also scored 141 on the Super IQ test, and my niece scored 114. Tickle's scores are obviously more varied that some seem to think.
I also scored 141 on the "ultimate iq test", found at the International High IQ Society's web sight, so perhaps Tickle is slightly more accurate than some would give credit(or perhaps they are all dubious).

Why are some of you so suprised to find so many people who have scored 136 on Tickle. What did you expect--to goole iq 136 and see your name alone on a pedestal? With so many people taking the test, obviously you are going to find many others with the same result. You didn't score 197! Don't be so hard on yourself, after all I've read that the average iq score on an internet test is 110. That is explained as the scores not necessarily being artificially high, but that the average computer user scores 10 pts higher than the average person. That makes sense to me. I actually think that number might be a little low, myself.

I took the test for the first time over a year ago, and whether it's true or not, it has given me a new confidence in my intellect. I have used it in all aspects of my life. It has allowed me to stop being a follower, and to come out of the shadow of others to become a leader. I'm probably intellectually superior to them anyway, so why not?--and whether I am or not, it doesn't matter, as long as they believe it, right?

Here's what I'd like to know: Does Tickle know what they've started? Do they have a clue that 136'ers are ganging up here, just waiting to swoop down on their web site like a pack of, of, well, mega-mentals!

Since no one has asked: Can I be your leader?

Posted by: Doric at September 9, 2005 03:38 AM

I just took the tickle test and got .... 136
I think if you get only a couple of questions wrong (say , 2 or 3) you land up with a score of around 136. I took an IQ test on another site and got around 135 on that too.Although it is possible that the tickle tests are slightly biased upwards, the kind of people taking these tests do have a minimum IQ. Navigating websites like tickle would require a decent amount of IQ :-) , and there are many people who can't even do that.I've been labelled a "visual mathematician".I'm currently in grad school for computer science so I guess their analysis isn't completely crap. One thing's for sure though - anyone with a decent grasp of very basic maths, simple logic and english would have an IQ in this range.Getting less would mean you're deficient in one of these areas. Finally I would say people who got 136 are on the higher end of the tickle target population, and should take another test with harder questions to get a more accurate analysis.

Posted by: Rajarshi Sen at September 12, 2005 09:47 PM

Well guys, I've had a bloody good laugh reading all of these posts, and am glad to be part of this unique 136 club.

Posted by: FickleTickle at September 26, 2005 12:31 PM

All of us are very intelligent. As some of the previous posters had said, all of us scored on or near 136, used Google to search upon the relevance of the Tickle score of 136, and arrived here to comment on, what appears to be, a somewhat pre-engineered but possibly accurate score of 136. I am glad to hear others have taken other IQ tests and do corroborate the score of 136. But one must be skeptical of the sales pitch of approximately US $12 to purchase an elaboration of the IQ test results. I suppose a better measure of intelligence is the commentary presented at this website. All of you seem to be very intelligent. And for those of you who have assessed your current job placements as somewhat below your mental mettle, maintain your job search efforts and your own individual educational improvements, and I am quite sure all of you will be satisfied eventually.

Someone famous (I simply do not remember whom) said (I am paraphrasing), "Success is not how high you achieve, but rather how high you bounce after falling."

In 1985, I graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and as member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. For the past 20 years, I have been writing software, and I have not lost the thrill of doing it. I have pursued my own mind expansion through continued reading, writing, and (believe it or not) art.
(It also helps to be very frugal.)

This was my first and most likely to be my last IQ test.

Congratulations to all of you.

Posted by: bung at October 13, 2005 09:24 PM

Well, it may be an accurate measurement of a certain kind of intelligence, but I believe intelligence as a whole is more complex and branches in many facets.

Posted by: Anonymous at October 16, 2005 03:17 PM

It's a scam. About 90% of the questions are easy, while the other 10% are difficult. What does that mean to the tester? Well, that means the anyone will score higher than their I.Q. If one were to answer them all incorrectly, it would, of course, be a low score. The scores are variable. It's the validity of the I.Q. questions that is inaccurate. So, I would say a 136 would really be in the 100-110 range.

Posted by: Jake at October 16, 2005 03:33 PM

K - so I googled 136 like everybloodybody else and ended up here BUT... I didn't get here because of the tickle test. I took another test: www.testcafe.com and got, guess what?

136!

Even weirder: I had taken the tickle test earlier this year (not supposed to take IQ tests more than once every 2-3 years) previously but scored only like 124 or something equally as crappy.

Even more weird: I think these tests are all psych experiments to see what you can do with your life if you think you're smarter than you really are. So don't be so friggin gullible.

Brilliant!

I'm gonna go get one of those awesome 136 t-shirts anyway.

My gosh this is weird - Everyone did the Tickle test, and the majority of us got IQ of 136, and googled it - and then then here we are? Its like some weird world - is there a puddle of google searchers for every IQ in the world, or is this Tickle thing a stupid hoax!!??!! I thought i was smart! Dammit!

We should tell the website we are on to their conspiracy

I JUST CAN'T GET OVER HOW MANY OF US THERE ARE IN HERE!!!

Posted by: kiwiandrew at October 25, 2005 09:21 PM

Now you know why advertisements are geared the way they are. Look how predictable we are! What have we all learned from this experience? Being told we think outside the box and actually thinking outside the box are two very different things. If we really were "outside the box" thinkers; we never would have taken the stupid test in the first place. And incidentally, I am a 136 Word Worrior. I also tried to deliberately mislead the test, I changed my personal data at the end, not my answers.

Posted by: Carole at October 25, 2005 11:45 PM

This is funny. I was bored, saw the pop-up, took the test, got a 136 and the title "Visionary Philosopher". Then to satisfy my ego's curiosity, I googled "IQ 136", and ended up here. Whether or not this test is valid, in reading all these comments I still observed word usage and grammar that mirrored my own. Though I guess to all you other 136'ers you'd see that to "mirror" something actually means to be the opposite, but you know what I meant. Nice to know I wasn't the only one that did this, and the majority of the people that did are intelligent. Sign me up for the 136 club!

Posted by: Mark at October 28, 2005 01:56 PM

But alas...I see that I too, am merely a member of the "136 Club". Sheeit. What a sucker I am. Didn't I learn from my parents that intelligence quotients are worthless if your E.Q.
